How it works

Farmer’s Gold HeatShield Performance

Farmer’s Gold HeatShield is composed of bio-polymers found in the polypeptides of amino acids, proteins and enzymes of a select variety of desert plant extracts.

When exposed to intense heat and sunlight plants increase their rate of transpiration to compensate. When conditions become too extreme, plants are unable to replace the water lost through transpiration quickly enough, and may show signs of heat stress and shock.

When applied properly, Farmer’s Gold HeatShield forms a protective permeable micro-thin protein pro biopolymer coating that provides UV protection for up to 3 to 4 weeks and ambient air temps of 120F with each application.

As temperatures rise Farmer’s Gold HeatShield protective coating works two ways to reduce stress and damage.

The protective coating seals the treated plants, reducing transpiration and reducing water loss.
The coating also reflects sunlight and harmful UV rays to minimize sunburn damage and slows the rate of heat exchange entering plants, thereby further reducing transpiration.
Farmer’s Gold HeatShield enables plants to retain cooler internal temperatures for a longer period of time throughout the day.
When temperatures begin to cool, Farmer’s Gold HeatShield protective micro-thin coating responds by expanding to a micro-screen coating. Farmer’s Gold HeatShield will not shut the plant down, and will not clog or block stomata openings.
After sunset Farmer’s Gold HeatShield micro-screen coating allows plants to function normally and mature properly.

Farmer’s Gold HeatShield is the only product on the market able to make these claims.

Our Natural & Organic Farmer’s Gold HeatShield is a 100% organic micro-thin protein polymer coating that saves water and protects plants against heat and sun damage by reducing water loss through leaves and stems.

IMPORTANT:
For optimum results, Farmer’s Gold HeatShield must always be applied late evening to early morning, (at lights off indoors.)
During hot weather a temperature drop of 10-15 degrees is necessary before applying for greater plant uptake and coating. Application must stop one hour before sunrise (or lights on for indoors.)

WHEN TO USE:
Use Farmer’s Gold HeatShield every two to four weeks during hot weather. When the plants are actively growing apply every 2 weeks. Monthly applications are sufficient for non-growing plants.

Application Rates

INDOOR AND GREENHOUSE HEMP/CANNABIS PLANTS:
Add 3 to 4 ounces Farmer’s Gold HeatShield to a quart spray bottle with enough water to make 1 quart of ready to use solution. Mix thoroughly before using solution and after adding to water.
Use solution immediately after mixing. Do NOT store mixed solution – make fresh solution before each use.
Wet the entire plant surface including the underside of the leaves, and then let the protective coating dry. Once dry, coating will not wash off from up to 10 inches of rainfall.

TRANSPLANTING:
Use Farmer’s Gold HeatShield prior to transplanting to reduce transplant shock. Mix and spray with a dilution of 1.5-2 ounces of product per gallon of water.
