Seeding
Farmer’s Gold Rootzone Activator has several ingredients that help seeds germinate quicker and healthier. It contains all natural marine and desert extracts that have naturally occurring hormones that stimulate fast germination and healthier seedlings.
Preparing the seed germination medium.
Whether you prefer to germinate your cannabis or hemp seeds in water, wet paper towels, rapid rooter plugs, coco, peat moss, rockwool cubes, or red cups of soil, Farmer’s Gold Rootzone Activator will ensure you have successful germinations every time.
Mix 1 teaspoon of Rootzone Activator per quart of water and pre-soak your rooting medium, (paper towel, rapid rooter, rockwool cubes etc.)
Preparing the seed
Many growers soak their hemp/cannabis seeds prior to germination. If you like to do this, Rootzone Activator can jump-start the process with 100% organic growth and germinating hormones to guarantee quick hydration and fast germinations.
Mix 6 – 8 drops of Rootzone Activator in 8 ounces of non-chlorinated water. Soak seeds for up to 24 hours before removing and placing in your germinating medium of choice.
At Germination
Once your seeds have germinated, they are at their most vulnerable. The shock of emerging into the world, outside climate conditions, the medium they were planted in all pose risks that a newly emerging plant must overcome.
Seedling
Rootzone Activator has user activated enzymes and beneficial bacteria that condition the rootzone so it is more friendly to tender new roots. It enables the seedling’s roots to more easily uptake water and micro-nutrients and has marine and desert extracts that promote new root growth and improves immunity to disease.
Mix 1/2 ounce Rootzone Activator per 1 gallon of water and use within 72 hours to keep your seedlings moist, but not wet! Marijuana plants prefer to be closer to dry than wet, so don’t over water them!
Transplanting
More seedlings die from transplanting than just about anything other than over watering. Transplant shock can be prevented organically and all naturally by using Farmer’s Gold Rootzone Activator with select marine and desert plant extracts.
Mix 1 ounce Rootzone Activator per gallon of water. Use it to moisten your transplant medium, whether coco, rockwool, hydro systems or soil before or after transplanting to ensure the roots stay moist and covered.
First week
Hemp/Cannabis seedlings grow rapidly in the first week, and if they don’t have enough light close enough (but not too close!) they will stretch and become leggy and unsteady. To ensure your seedlings grow roots quickly and grow thick stems use Rootzone Activator’s enzymes and beneficial bacteria system.
Mix 1 ounce per gallon of water. Rootzone Activator will help your new plants quickly uptake nutrients and micro-nutrients to ensure healthy stem growth with an all organic non-burn formula of N-P-K.
Second week
Now that your plants are starting to take form, they are ready to start growing, and to grow they need nutrients, minerals and water. Farmer’s Gold Rootzone Activator helps to break down nutrients in the rootzone to make it easier for the plant to uptake, thereby supercharging your normal nutrient regiment!
Mix 1 ounce of Rootzone Activator per gallon of water along with your preferred fertilizer system at the rates recommended for seedlings.
Cuttings
A great way to propagate your garden is to take cuttings of your favorite plants and create ‘clones’ of them. These genetically identical cuttings, when rooted, become identical ‘clones’ of the original plant. Farmer’s Gold Rootzone Activator has all organic rooting hormones and enzymes that prevent shock and encourage new root growth.
Preparing cutting soak
When you are ready to start cloning your garden, you’ll need to prepare a solution to soak your cuttings in as soon as you cut them from the plant. Allowing oxygen to enter the freshly cut stem can impede successful rooting. By dipping it immediately into a soaking solution that includes Farmer’s Gold Rootzone Activator, you can ensure your cuttings will not suffer from shock and will have all organic enzymes providing a shield against disease or pests.
Mix 6 to 8 drops of Rootzone Activator per quart of non-chlorinated water. Immediately transfer the cutting into this solution as you remove them from the ‘mother’ plant.
Preparing rooting medium
Farmer’s Gold Rootzone Activator is safe and effective to use in all clone rooting systems. Bubble cloners, aero-cloners, rockwool cubes, soilless hydro mixes, rapid rooters, and red plastic cups and are all great ways to root your newly cut clones. Having the perfect balance of micro-nutrients, growth hormones, beneficial enzymes and vitamins is essential for success.
Mix 1 teaspoon per gallon of non-chlorinated water and pre-soak your rooting medium or add to your hydroponic rooting system.
During rooting phase
Cannabis/Hemp cutting usually show roots within 7 to 14 days. If you use a dome to keep humidity on your cuttings, you shouldn’t need to add water to your rooting medium/system. If you do have dryness issues, reapply at the same rates as before.
Mix 1 teaspoon per gallon of non-chlorinated water and add to your rooting medium or hydroponic rooting system.
Clones
Once your cuttings show roots, you officially have a clone! Clones are hungry little plants but are still young and sensitive to over feeding and watering. Farmer’s Gold Rootzone Activator’s 100% organic all natural non-burn formula of N-P-K will ensure your new creations will get the nutrients and micro-nutrients they need for rapid growth and healthy development from day one.
Newly rooted clones/transplanting
As soon as your clones are showing roots they are ready to grow, and the best way to ensure rapid healthy clone growth is to use Farmer’s Gold Rootzone Activator’s all organic enzyme and beneficial bacteria system to aid in the uptake of water, nutrients and oxygen.
Mix 1 ounce per gallon of Rootzone Activator along with your preferred fertilizer system at the rates recommended for seedlings and clones.
Transplanting
Clones ready for up-potting
When your clones outgrow their first home, it is important to up-pot them into a larger container so their roots will continue to grow and not become rootbound or suffer from root-rot. The 100% Organic enzyme and beneficial bacterial system in Farmer’s Gold Rootzone Activator will help to delay root-bounding and prevent root-rot, but for your plant to get bigger, it needs a healthy and ample rootzone, so up-potting to a new home is essential whether growing in soil, rockwool, hydro or outdoors.
Preparing transplanting medium
The first step to transplanting your hemp/cannabis clone is to prepare the medium you will be transferring it into. For soil and soilless hydroponic mediums, prewetting is preferred. For rockwool and hydroton, rinsing and presoaking is preferred.
Mix 1 ounce of Rootzone Activator per gallon of non-chlorinated water. Use to pre-wet your transplanting medium and to water the plants in afterwards.
Vegetative Growth
Once your plants are in larger containers or their final grow system, its time to really supercharge their growth!

Transition from clone/seedling to Early “Veg” Phase
In the week after transferring your clone or plant to a new home it needs time to establish new roots to support itself both physically and nutritionally. Ensuring the rootzone biosphere is healthy and has all of the natural enzymes and beneficial bacteria needed to stimulate healthy new roots that can easily access the water, nutrients and oxygen in the rootzone is essential.
Mix 1 ounce Rootzone Activator per gallon of water, and apply at every watering, with or without additional nutrients as directed by the manufacturer. Remember: Hemp/Cannabis plants prefer to be on the dry side, and they only grow new roots when they reach out to find more water, so don’t over water!
Aggressive Veg
Once your plants have established healthy new root systems, they will enter a phase of rapid, aggressive growth. Fast, vigorous and healthy growth requires giving your plants enough water and nutrients to keep up with their impressive new demands. However, in our enthusiasm to give our plants as much nutrients as possible, it is possible to over do things and risk overloading the plant causing nutrient and mineral imbalances that lead to nutrient uptake lockout. To avoid this include Farmer’s Gold Rootzone Activator at every watering and feeding.
Don’t worry, Rootzone Activator will never harm your plants with its No-Burn organic N-P-K formula. It provides only micro amounts and therefore doesn’t replace normal N-P-K fertilizers in your growing schedule.
Because of the unique blend of desert and marine extracts it instead helps your plants more efficiently uptake the nutrients and minerals already present in the rootzone. It also breaks down strong fertilizers and prevents toxic build-up in your growing medium, soil or hydro.
Rapid vegetative growth
During this aggressive phase of vegetative growth you should rely on Farmer’s Gold Rootzone Activator to help supercharge the plants development of thick strong stems and branches with lusher green leaves and more healthy apical stems than you’ve ever seen before!
Mix 2 ounces of Rootzone Activator per gallon of water, and apply at every watering, with or without additional nutrients as directed by the manufacturer.
Nutrient build up
The vegetating phase of growth can last for as little as a week or two, to as long as two or three months indoors, and six plus months outdoors. During that growth period they receive lots of great nutrients, but they add up and risk overloading the plant causing nutrient and mineral imbalances that lead to nutrient uptake lockout. To avoid this include Farmer’s Gold Rootzone Activator at every watering and feeding. It has natural organic user activated enzymes and beneficial bacteria that go to work breaking down built up toxins and reconditioning the rootzone for better water, nutrient and oxygen uptake potential.
But the formula is only ‘active’ for 72 hours after mixing, so use at every watering and nutrient feeding throughout the growth cycle to keep your rootzone active and healthy.
Transition to Bloom
As your plants transition from the growth phase to the bloom phase, triggered either by the shortening days outside, or the switch to 12/12 lighting schedules indoors, their nutritional needs change as well.
They no longer need nitrogen and instead look to phosphorus and potassium to help in the development of preflower sites at each node. Farmer’s Gold Rootzone Activator includes marine and desert extracts that help simulate the plants natural flowering hormones, and has molasses to help provide carbohydrates and minerals needed in the formation of dense, flavorful buds.
Weeks one and two of bloom
During this transitional period the plant remains in the vegetative phase for the first two to three weeks depending on the genetics of the strain. Because of this, the plant will continue to stretch as it continues its aggressive growth from the previous weeks. To keep up with its rapidly changing nutritional needs include Rootzone Activator at every watering with or without bloom formula nutrients included as recommended by the manufacturer.
Mix 1 ounce of Rootzone Activator per gallon of water.
Aggressive Bloom
Once your plants are in full flower with buds stacking and growing denser, the organic molasses, fish emulsions and shale ore in Farmer’s Gold Rootzone Activator provide greater bud density, increased aroma and flavor as the flowers develop.
Weeks three/four and on
Most hemp/cannabis strain’s blooms mature in 8 to 9 weeks, while some take upwards of 10 to 12 weeks to reach full ripeness. During that time to prevent rootzone insect and disease damage, continue to use Rootzone Activator to continually condition your rootzone and ensure your flowers are able to uptake the tremendous amount of water and nutrients they require in the bloom phase.
Mix 1/2 ounce of Rootzone Activator per gallon of water, and use at every watering, with or without bloom nutrients or the bud enhancers of your preference.
Before Harvest
There are several methods for determining when your flowers are ready for harvest, but it is standard practice to discontinue the use of all nutrients, bud enhancers and supplements one to three weeks before harvest to ensure optimal flavor and quality.
As such we recommend not using Farmer’s Gold Rootzone Activator 1 to 3 weeks before harvest based on your preferences.
Flushing
In the week(s) prior to your intended harvest it is a good practice to flush the plant of all built up nutrients and supplements that have built up during the plants lifetime. Flush the plant with pure non-chlorinated water at every watering adding nothing else so your plant is forced to use up all of it reserves in the last days before your most successful harvest ever!
